Hot Springs - Termas Geometricas
Taking a bath in pure hot thermal water, in daylight, or at dusk under candlelight, alone or in good company, in one of 17 slate covered pools dispersed along a half mile mountain stream may be one of the greatest pleasures one can enjoy, in the midst of a wild brutal environment, in the coolness of the forest in warmer days, or when it is cold, it rains or snows.
Getting there
There is no public transport available. In summer, shared transfer can be arranged from Coñaripe or Lican Ray.
It takes 1.5 hours by car to get to the Termas Geometricas (65 km). Take the road to Lican Ray and turn left in Coñaripe, following the signs to NP Villarrica and Palguin. The last bit is on a rough gravelroad, but with care it is suitable for all cars. In winter, a 4WD vehicle is recommended. Don't attempt to get there from the other side (Palguin). You need a high clearance 4WD vehicle to do this!
Facilities
The Termas Geometricas have 17 hot pools. Toilets and lockers are provided. There's a roofed fireplace and a small cafeteria operating in summer.
