Hiking
The Villarrica and Huerquehue National Parks offer a couple of very beautiful dayhikes. For those with their own means of transport, the Huincacara hike is the best choice, as there are hardly other people in this section of the Villarrica National Park.

Huincacara
The Huincacara sector is in a little visited part of the Villarrica NP. The trail leads to a lookout point with spectacular views.
Huerquehue NP
The Huerquehue NP is one of the nicest in the area, and it is easily accessible by public bus all year round. There are waterfalls, nice forests and several lagoons on the hike.
Volcano Villarrica
The hike up the active volcano Villarrica is spectacular and well worth the physical effort and the expenses. Officially, it is not permitted to do the climb on your own. There are several agencies in town organizing this trip, the best being Politur.
